Atlético Madrid 4 – Deportivo 1 (Highlights)
By: Al | November 18th, 2008Atlético played the kind of match that they played at the beginning of the season with another 4-0 blowout (plus that one easy Depor goal scored at the end). Such a comfortable win is something that the team is able to achieve much more often. Just imagine: playing against Osasuna like this a week ago would’ve snatched us some extra points and a better position close to the top 4.
Johnny H scored his first goal for the team, something that can be used as a bit of a confidence booster. Although Kun Aguero didn’t score, he still set up Maxi for a very nice goal. Forlan’s two goals were super, and he was denied a few times during the match by the damn goalpost, but he was on absolute fire nonetheless.

Could this be the beginning of a good winning streak? Or will the next match be a disappointing draw/loss? Nobody knows.
Right now we’re 6 points from the Champions League zone, and getting there is much harder than just winning two more matches. Solid games like these, and the possible bad luck of Valencia/Sevilla/Real Madrid will be huge in landing us in the zone that we should be in right now. Nothing is impossible, and there’s plenty of season left to redeem ourselves, although it feels like I’ve been saying that forever…
